Assam's colonial-era planters' bungalows are the region's quiet luxury: high ceilings, wooden floors, a cook who has been there decades, and a veranda looking out over a working tea estate. There is not a great deal to do, which is the point.
Mornings are for a plantation walk with an estate manager and a proper tasting in the factory; afternoons are for the veranda. It pairs unusually well with Kaziranga, which is often only a couple of hours away.
