For most of the families we plan for, this is the first passport stamp - or the first one in a long time. That changes what the job actually is. The itinerary is the easy part; the hard part is everything around it, and it is where trips go wrong.
So we start at the other end. Which of the four needs a visa arranged weeks ahead and which does not. Whether the flight out of your city goes direct or wants a night in the metro first. What the trip costs once the flight is separated from the land package, so you can see which half is actually moving. And where you will eat, named in advance rather than left to a guide on the day.
We are honest about what we are here. The North East is our own ground and we run it ourselves. South East Asia we plan with partners we have used for years and trust - which means our value to you is the planning, the routing and someone on IST who picks up the phone, not a pretence that we own a bus in Bali.

Answered plainly, because these are the ones that decide whether a trip works - and the ones most brochures skip.

Do we need a visa?
It depends on the country, and it is the first thing we check for you.
The four are not the same and they do not move together. Thailand currently admits Indian passport holders without a visa for short stays. Indonesia issues a visa on arrival at Denpasar, paid in rupiah at the airport. Vietnam runs an e-visa you apply for online before you fly. Singapore is the outlier - Indian nationals need a visa arranged in advance, and it is the one that catches people out. We tell you which of these applies to your trip before you pay anything, and we will not let a booking go out with a visa problem in it.

How do we get there?
From the big metros, often directly. From everywhere else, the connection is the decision.
It depends far more on where you start than on where you are going. From Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad or Kolkata there are direct services to Bangkok, Singapore and Vietnam, and Bali is usually one stop. From a smaller city - Guwahati, where we sit, is a good example - every trip begins with a domestic hop, and then the real question is whether to take a same-day connection or overnight in the metro. That usually turns on your arrival time and whether you are travelling with parents or small children. A tight connection that saves a night costs more than it saves if you miss it, and a missed international leg is not a rebooking, it is a new ticket. Tell us the city you are flying from and we will route it properly rather than booking the cheapest pair of flights that technically joins up.

What does it actually cost?
For most families, less than they expect - and the flight is the variable, not the land package.
The land portion of a South East Asia trip is remarkably stable: hotels, transfers, tours and most meals price within a predictable band across the year. What swings the total is airfare, which moves with season and how early you book. Book the flights three to four months out and the same holiday costs meaningfully less than booking it six weeks out, with nothing else changed. Every quote we send separates the two so you can see which half you are actually negotiating.

Will there be food we can eat?
Yes - and this is a real question, not a polite one.
It is the single most common worry we hear, and it deserves a straight answer rather than reassurance. Indian and pure-vegetarian restaurants are easy in Bangkok, Pattaya, Singapore and the tourist belt of Bali, and we position hotels within walking distance of them wherever it matters. Vietnam is the one that needs more care, and we plan around it rather than hoping. Jain requirements we handle by naming the restaurants in advance, not by leaving it to the guide on the day.

When should we go?
November to February suits most of the region - but the exceptions matter.
The cool dry months are the safe answer across Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore, and they are also the busiest and dearest. Bali runs on a different clock - its dry season is roughly April to October, which makes it the useful counterweight when the mainland is wet. If your dates are fixed by school holidays, tell us and we will pick the country to fit the dates rather than the other way round. That is usually the better trade.
