This post explains what a Bali trip costs from India, and why. It uses the prices of the Bali trips we sell, for 6 and 7 days.
It also covers what you pay on top, how the price changes with the hotel level, and how we price a family.
The short answer
Our 6-day Bali trip, 5 nights, starts from ₹32,000 per person with 3-star hotels. With 4-star hotels it starts from ₹45,000. With 5-star hotels it starts from ₹65,000.
Our Bali 6N/7D package, 6 nights, starts from ₹32,000 per person, land only.
Our Bali honeymoon package, also 6 nights, starts from ₹32,000 per person, land only.
All of these prices are indicative, not quotes. Each is per person, for 2 adults sharing a room.
A budget for a couple
For two people on the 7-day package, the land price starts from ₹64,000 for the pair. That is ₹32,000 each.
On top of that, add three things. Your return flights to Bali. Your visa on arrival and Bali's tourism levy. And your own spending money.
Flights change by the day and by the city you fly from. So we price them separately, on the day you ask.
On the 6-day trip, a couple starts from ₹64,000 for the pair with 3-star hotels. With 4-star hotels that becomes ₹90,000. With 5-star hotels it becomes ₹1,30,000. These are land prices too, before flights.
Visa and levy fees are paid in rupiah when you arrive. Our Bali visa guide for Indians has the current figures and how to pay.
What the 7-day price covers
The room. Four nights in a premium hotel in Kuta, then two nights in a one-bedroom private-pool villa in Ubud. Breakfast is included every day from Day 2.
The car. A private air-conditioned vehicle for all tours and transfers, with an airport pickup and a garland welcome.
The days out. The fast boat to Nusa Penida with a car on the island, and snorkelling when the tide allows. Rafting on the Ayung with a guide, and the Jungle Swing. The 4x4 jeep up Mount Batur with a local guide.
The small costs. Entrance fees, local taxes, temple donations, parking and tolls, as per the itinerary. Lunch is included on the Nusa Penida day and on the rafting day.
What you pay on top
Some costs are not in any package price. These are listed on our package page.
International flights to and from Bali. The visa on arrival and the tourism levy, both paid when you land. A small island fee on Nusa Penida, paid locally.
Meals that are not listed, and any optional activities or guides. Travel insurance and personal spending.
Dinners are not in the 7-day price. The one exception is the honeymoon package, which has one candle-light dinner at the villa.
Carry some rupiah in cash for the island fee, tips and small shops.
6 days or 7: what changes
The 6-day trip has three nights in premium hotels and two in a one-bedroom private-pool villa. Its days take in water sports, the Uluwatu fire dance, Nusa Penida and an ATV ride.
The 7-day trip swaps the water sports and the ATV for the Bedugul highlands, Tanah Lot, rafting and a Batur sunrise.
Both start from ₹32,000 per person on our site. The day-by-day for each is in our Bali itinerary for 6 and 7 days.
What the hotel level does
On the 6-day trip, the hotel level is the biggest lever on price.
Moving from 3-star to 4-star hotels takes the starting price from ₹32,000 to ₹45,000 per person. Moving to 5-star takes it to ₹65,000.
The tiers on our destination page are set by hotel star level. Ask us what each tier means for your dates.
The honeymoon version
The honeymoon package runs the same 7 days, and also starts from ₹32,000 per person, land only.
The stays are different. Four nights at a 4-star resort in Kuta, then two in a 4-star pool villa at Keramas.
The villa adds a honeymoon cake, a rose-petal welcome, floating breakfasts and one candle-light dinner. For how to pace a honeymoon, read planning a Bali honeymoon.
What makes it cost more
The hotel level. On the 6-day trip, 4-star and 5-star hotels raise the starting price by a lot.
Extra nights. Each night adds a room, a breakfast and a day of the car.
Extras outside the package. A water park, a safari park or the Monkey Forest on the 7-day trip are paid on the day.
Travelling as two. A couple carries the whole car between them. Four people split it.
Why we print no rupee conversions
The visa, the levy and the island fee are all charged in Indonesian rupiah. The rupee to rupiah rate moves every day.
A conversion printed today would be wrong in a month. So we convert at the day's rate when we quote you, and not before.
The package prices on this page are already in rupees. We still confirm them against live hotel rates on the day you ask.
A family of 4
Our prices are set for 2 adults sharing one room. A family of four is priced differently, so we do not print a family total.
Two things change. First, four people need two rooms, or one larger room. The villa nights on our packages are in a one-bedroom villa, built for two. So we change the villa or the room plan for a family.
Second, the car is shared by four instead of two. That lowers the car cost for each person.
Children are where it varies most. Each hotel sets its own rule for a child's bed and breakfast, often by age. So tell us how many adults, each child's age and how you like to sleep. We will price it to your party.
Ways to keep the cost down
Pick the 3-star tier on the 6-day trip. It is our lowest starting price.
Travel as four, not two. The private car is a shared cost, so each person pays less of it.
Skip what you do not need. If you have small children, the Batur sunrise can go. Tell us, and we will reprice.
Book early. Rooms are subject to availability when you confirm, so the best-value rooms go first.
How payment works
On our Bali packages, 15% of the land cost is paid when you confirm. The rest is due at least 30 days before you leave.
So on a couple's land price of ₹64,000, the amount to confirm would be ₹9,600.
Once the booking is confirmed, cancelling costs ₹5,000 per person. Cancel between 30 and 15 days before the trip, and 50% is charged. Inside 15 days, there is no refund.
Air tickets and prepaid bookings cannot be refunded once issued.
