Split your stay - don't unpack once
The single biggest upgrade to a Bali honeymoon is staying in two very different places. A few nights near the south - Seminyak or Kuta - for beaches, sunsets and the Uluwatu clifftops, then a move inland to a private-pool villa in Ubud, wrapped in rice terraces and quiet. Two moods, one trip: buzzy coast, then green calm. The Ubud half is almost always where the honeymoon truly lands.
Pace the big days
Nusa Penida (that T-Rex-shaped Kelingking cliff) and the Mount Batur sunrise trek are spectacular - and both are long, early starts. Stack them back to back and the honeymoon starts to feel like a to-do list. We space them out with a slow villa morning in between: floating breakfast in the pool, no alarm, nowhere to be.
The small touches are the memory

One date to know: Nyepi
If your trip brushes against Nyepi - the Balinese New Year - plan carefully. For 24 hours the entire island goes silent: no flights, no traffic, lights down, even the airport closed. It's a profound experience if you're prepared for it, and a frustration if you're not.
