Bohag Bihu in mid-April is Assamese new year and the best week of the year to be in the state. Husori troupes move house to house singing and drumming, there is dancing in the open grounds, and everybody feeds everybody.
It is a domestic festival rather than a staged one, which means the way to see it is with someone local - in a village or a home rather than at a ticketed event. That's the version we can get you into.
