Twelve days that climb from Guwahati's river plains up to the high passes of Arunachal and back down into Meghalaya's mist-covered hills. A journey shaped by mountain monasteries, valley homestays, sacred groves and the warm hospitality of three of Northeast India's most distinct cultures — Assamese, Monpa and Khasi.

    After breakfast, visit the revered Kamakhya Temple for darshan — one of the most sacred Shakti Peethas in India, perched atop the Nilachal Hills with sweeping views of the Brahmaputra. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Brahmaputra riverside and explore the local markets for shopping. In the evening, board the Alfresco Sundown Cruise on the Brahmaputra (tickets included).

    After breakfast, check out and drive to the picturesque village of Shergaon. Enjoy scenic mountain views en route as you cross into Arunachal Pradesh via the Bhalukpong checkpost. On arrival, check into the charming Shergaon Farmstay, where home-cooked meals and mountain quiet await.

    After breakfast, visit the Sheep Breeding Farm and explore Shergaon Monastery. Then continue the scenic drive towards Tawang, climbing through pine forests and high mountain country. On arrival, check into Hotel Jhaktsang and rest after the day's drive.

  5. Excursion to Bumla Pass & Madhuri Lake

    Excursion to Bumla Pass & Madhuri Lake

    After breakfast, set out on an excursion to Bumla Pass (subject to permit and weather conditions), the Indo-China border at over 15,000 ft. Continue to the spectacular Sangestar Lake — popularly known as Madhuri Lake — framed by snow-capped peaks. Return to Tawang in the afternoon.

    After breakfast, explore the major attractions of Tawang — the magnificent Tawang Monastery (Asia's second largest), the moving War Memorial, the towering Giant Buddha Statue, and local markets and viewpoints. Later, proceed to Sangti Valley — a tranquil river valley near Dirang known for its apple orchards and the seasonal migration of black-necked cranes. Check into Tsejor Homestay for an authentic Monpa experience.

    Enjoy a leisurely breakfast by the riverside, then check out from the homestay. Visit the Dirang Museum en route, then continue the long but scenic drive back to Guwahati through Bhalukpong and Tezpur. Reach Guwahati by evening.

    After breakfast, drive towards Cherrapunjee — one of the wettest places on earth. En route, stop at the beautiful Umiam Lake for photography and relaxation. Continue through Shillong and on into the Cherrapunjee plateau. Check into Kutmadan Resort by evening.

    A full day exploring Cherrapunjee's most spectacular sights. Visit the magical Garden of Caves at Laitmawsiang, the stunning Nohkalikai Falls (India's tallest plunge waterfall), the dramatic Seven Sisters Falls, and end with a leisurely walk through Eco Park overlooking the Sylhet plains.

Before you go

A few important notes.

  1. 01As we are not holding any pre-booking at the above-mentioned hotels, rooms are subject to availability at the time of package confirmation.
  2. 02Due to climatic conditions or unforeseen circumstances, if there is any night halt on urgent basis in any place in between, clients will have to pay directly at the location.
  3. 03Early check-in and late check-out shall be paid by clients directly at the hotel.
  4. 04Rate valid for Indian citizens only.
  5. 05Monument and entry charges on direct payment basis.
  6. 06Bumla Pass and Madhuri Lake excursions are conducted by mandatory local union vehicles — these charges are paid directly on the day, subject to permit availability and weather.
  7. 07June marks the onset of monsoon in Meghalaya — please pack adequate rain protection (ponchos, waterproof footwear).
  8. 08Arunachal Pradesh travel involves long mountain drives. We recommend carrying motion-sickness medication and dressing in layers, as temperatures at the higher passes can drop sharply.
  9. 09Bumla Pass is at high altitude (~15,000 ft). Travellers with any history of high blood pressure, cardiac issues, or breathing difficulties should consult their physician before the trip.
  10. 10Itinerary may be adjusted on-ground in case of weather, road conditions or permit timings — your safety and comfort take priority.

Payment Policy

  1. 1.50% advance at the time of confirmation.
  2. 2.Remaining 50% to be paid prior to 30 days of tour start.

Cancellation Policy

  1. 1.Once the package is confirmed, a cancellation charge of INR 5,000/- will be applied per person.
  2. 2.If the tour is cancelled between 30–15 days prior to tour start, 50% cancellation charges will apply.
  3. 3.If the tour is cancelled within 15 days of tour start, no refund will be available.
  4. 4.Airfare, train tickets, and special-permit fees once issued are non-refundable.
