Arrive in Leh (altitude: 3,500m). Rest is essential. In the evening explore the local market, Shanti Stupa, and Leh Palace at a gentle pace.
Explore Leh's unique cultural landmarks — the confluence of rivers, an anti-gravity hill, and Sikh & Buddhist heritage sites.
Cross the world's highest motorable road (5,359m) to reach the surreal Nubra Valley, a high-altitude cold desert.
Drive to Turtuk, one of India's northernmost villages — only opened to tourists in 2010. On clear days, the K2 peak is visible.
A dramatic drive through the Shyok River valley leads to the famous Pangong Tso — the lake that spans India and China.
Cross Changla Pass (5,360m) on the return. Visit celebrated monasteries en route.
